Celebrate the Indian Festival of Colours at Jardin d’Acclimatation with a full day of Bollywood dancing, music, food stalls and the famous colourful powder throw at 4pm. This joyful spring festival is a unique activity for families with young kids thanks to the open-air setting, lively performances and fun atmosphere — just be sure to wear white clothes you don’t mind getting messy, as they almost certainly will!

MUST KNOW: Younger children often enjoy the dancing, music and atmosphere more than the actual powder countdown, so it’s worth staying towards the back with toddlers or babies.

PARENT HACK: Bring spare clothes, wipes and sunglasses if your child is sensitive to powder, especially near the eyes.

Rain-safe: No — mostly outdoors
⏱️ Duration: 1–3 hours depending on performances + powder throw
😴 Nap-friendly: Better to try and go after nap for younger kids (as it gets louder and busier as it gets later)
🍼 Stroller-friendly: Yes – the Jardin D’Acclimatation gardens are super buggy friendly, however be aware it likely will get crowded around the colour throw area.

French artist JR has transformed the area around Pont Neuf into a giant inflatable “cave” installation that families can walk through for free.

The immersive artwork creates the illusion of huge rocky tunnels appearing in the middle of Paris and is especially fun with young kids thanks to the scale, echoing spaces and playful visual effect.

It’s an easy stroller-friendly stop if you’re already exploring central Paris, and works best as a short 20–40 minute wander rather than a full outing.

🎟️ FREE entry, no booking needed

Rain-safe: No — fully outdoors
⏱️ Duration: 20–40 mins
😴 Nap-friendly: Yes — easy short stop while exploring central Paris
🍼 Stroller-friendly: Yes — flat riverside/pedestrian access around Pont Neuf and the installation area
