La Flottille – it is THE restaurants to eat with young kids when visiting Palace of Versailles as it’s literally in the gardens, just a hop and a skip from the beautiful Grand Canal (great for duck watching). It also make a great pit-stop after a morning at the palace and before a visit to Petit Trianon.

Hotel Bout du Parc Versailles

Right at the far edges of the Palace of Versailles’ gardens, Tots City Guide recommends this family-friendly hotel and restaurant. There are toys and colouring on hand for kids. Versailles Notre Dame market is a fun, buzzy place to take kids. it’s about a 15 minute walk from Versailles Rive Gauche station. Top picks here are:

Positive Déli inside the Halles Du Marche – The best salad bar in town, perfect for picnics! (Find their sit-down out post on Rue Satory in Saint Louis). TIP: If you’re looking to picnic, head to Espace Ricard, just a 5 minute walk away.

Cannot rave enough about Positive Deli Satory

Here they serve bountiful plates of healthy, delicious looking salads, even a fussy toddler may be tempted to try. They also have chicken/ falafel wraps and sweet potato chips if you need to play it safer. With easy buggy access and a large toilet.

🍼 Stroller-friendly: Yes (ish). It can be hard work to open the doors and heave the buggy in – there’s a teeny bit of space to park them but not huge inside. Sitting outside is the better option if possible – although here it’s also a bit tight for space.
