What to do in Paris with young kids in January 2026

Near year, new things to do in Paris with kids! Here’s some top family-friendly activities in January with small children, babies and toddlers – from free cinema to festive light shows

Short and sweet kid-friendly cinema screenings – best thing, they’re FREE!

The current CineKids festival offers bargain cinema sessions for children aged 2 to 9. Includes a film screening + activities. The theme: laughter! (Just what we need during a dreary January..)

Huge images and videos project onto the walls of this east Paris warehouse. IMPORTANT: The gallery recommends from 6 years (the size of the images could be scary for little ones), but included in this round up as it could be great for any dino mad littler kids that aren’t fazed by the big screens. Also be aware that you can’t take buggies into the main exhibition room.

With colourful comic art and humorous visuals based on Le Chat – a great thing to do with small kids in Paris!

Free storytime sessions in Paris for little kids (18-3 years) in the library, over various dates in the year.

IMPORTANT: Must reserve one week before the session via: 01 53 90 30 30.

This incredible light walk season continues into January – be sure not to miss it before these events finish!

The following illuminated night events still open in January:

Event: En Voie D’illumination.

Event: ‘Japan In Lights’ Lantern Festival.
