One of Paris’s most beloved family attractions is finally back! After a major renovation, the new Cité des Enfants 2–6 ans finally reopens on 9th June 2026 (next week) with five immersive play worlds designed to spark curiosity, creativity and early scientific thinking. The redesigned space has been created specifically for younger children, with a calmer, more intuitive layout and even a quiet zone for when little ones need a break.

Here you’ll find:

  • Sensory water play
  • Imaginative workshops
  • Forest-themed area
  • Zones to encourage building experimenting and problem-solving.

Rain-safe: Yes – entirely indoors.

A weekend of creativity at this Family Festival at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in west of Paris. The museum neighbouring Jardin d’Acclimatation transforms into one giant playground with hands-on activities such as:

  • Live performances
  • Outdoor activities
  • There are also dedicated baby activities for the youngest visitors

MUST KNOW: Be sure to head to the top of the museum for great views of Paris!

PARENT HACK: If you’re considering a picnic to enjoy in the Jardin d’Acclimatation note that food and drinks are not permitted inside the Fondation Louis Vuitton building.

PARENT HACK: If you’ll be heading to the food trucks for lunch, be sure to arrive as early as possible before there are long queues (come for before 12 if possible!

Paris Musées’ FREE family weekends are back for 2026. This week head to 📍 Maison de Balzac for some fun, educational activities set inside the former home of one of France’s most famous writers.

Explore the house where Honoré de Balzac lived and wrote. While the museum itself is small, children will enjoy discovering the hidden garden, peeking into Balzac’s study and taking part activities such as:

🎪 A free outdoor circus festival on one of Paris’s most unusual green spaces. For one day only, the Petite Ceinture’s former railway tracks are transformed into a lively open-air festival celebrating circus arts. With performances running throughout the afternoon and a relaxed festival atmosphere, it’s a fantastic family outing that’s completely free. Expect:

  • Contemporary circus shows
  • Interactive performances
  • Music
  • DJs
  • Food stalls
  • Children’s books
  • Local artisans
  • Plenty of space for little ones to roam.

Rain-safe: No – this is an entirely outdoor event and weather dependent.

One of the most fun, immersive, and family-friendly art exhibitions in Paris this summer. Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich transforms the Grand Palais into a giant playground of optical illusions, mirror tricks and interactive installations that invite visitors to become part of the artwork.

Children can “climb” a Parisian building, explore floating boats, wander through mind-bending spaces and discover how perspective can completely change what they see.

With 14 immersive installations designed to be experienced rather than simply observed, this is contemporary art is playful, accessible (and great for fun family photos!).

⏱️ Duration: 1–1.5 hours. Allow extra time if your children want to revisit their favourite installations (tip-off: they probably will!).

Children will love the colourful moving sculptures, enormous balloon performances, interactive art and wide-open parkland (and playground). Parents can enjoy food trucks, a guinguette (a Tots City Guide favourite with kids!) and a relaxed festival atmosphere.

PARENT HACK: Bring ear defenders if concerned as some areas could be a bit loud for young ears

Fiesta is a joyful outdoor theatre show set in the enchanting Shakespeare Garden in the Bois de Boulogne.

The story follows Nono, who dreams of throwing the ultimate birthday party for his 10th birthday—until a storm forces everyone apart. Performed in a beautiful open-air setting, it’s a fun introduction to theatre for children .

Let’s just hope it doesn’t rain!!

French artist JR has transformed the area around Pont Neuf into a giant inflatable “cave” installation that families can walk through for free.

The immersive artwork creates the illusion of huge rocky tunnels appearing in the middle of Paris and is especially fun with young kids thanks to the scale, echoing spaces and playful visual effect.

It’s an easy stroller-friendly stop if you’re already exploring central Paris, and works best as a short 20–40 minute wander rather than a full outing.

Bricks of Wonder brings together more than 150 incredible LEGO® creations by renowned artist Dirk Denoyelle, built from over two million bricks. Expect giant sculptures, realistic portraits, famous artworks recreated in LEGO®, interactive displays and a robotic camera arm that reveals tiny details hidden within the builds.

The highlight: A HUGE LEGO PlayZone packed with one million bricks where kids can build their own masterpieces.

Newly opened in the 9th arrondissement, Bulles & Billes baby café is a beautifully designed indoor play space in Paris for babies, toddlers (and kids up to around 10 years).

There are seven themed “bubbles” to explore including sensory play, creative workshops, soft play, music and a calm dedicated area for babies – 0–2 years.

Parents can actually sit and enjoy good coffee and pastries in the café area while the kids play.

Visits are booked in 2-hour slots, and there are stroller lockers and baby facilities on site.

Cinema for little people! With short and sweet screenings, This weekend it’s themed around NATURE (tying in with Fete de la Nature aorund Paris this week! (see above for more info)

The Au Paradis des Enfants re-opened its doors mid-February. On Spring days this fairground is a great place to head to, and even better, many rides are 1 euro a ride. Set in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Leisure Island there’s also loads more activities and green space to enjoy in the sunshine.

Les Voiliers du Luxembourg

Around since 1890, these little miniature sail boats have been sailed on the Jardin du Luxembourg basin. It’s a super fine and affordable very ‘Paris’ activity with kids under 6. Opening for the first time this year for the April holidays, from 1st April.

Costs €6 er boat for half an hour.

Le Petit Bateaux

Open from 4th April, Tots City Guide recommends this outside activity, perfect from kids from 2 years old. Located in the beautiful Tuileries gardens right by The Louvre. Read more about fun things to do with small kids in this area.

Tots City Guide recommends a day out with small kids at these beautiful Château gardens. April is the perfect time to visit at the tulips are starting to bloom, aim to come near mid April to see them at their finest!

TIPS: Hire a 4 person bike for €10, it makes it much easier to explore the vast grounds with a toddler or small child.

With the sunny days become rarer by the week, make the most of any sunshine strolling through the Tuileries Gardens. Here you can soak in key Paris monuments like The Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Even better, when visiting the Tuileries Gardens with young kids there are tons of activities to do there. If you want to be one of the first to see it, it’s quite late but grab tickets asap and be prepared for high prices and a lot of crowds. If you want to AVOID the crowds, aim to book your Disneyland Paris trip for next year / in a few months when the fuss has died down a bit!
