THINGS to do in Paris with kids this week (MAY 2026)

Find the best things to do this week in Paris with kids under 6. In May 2026 don’t miss the Three Little Pig’s family friendly show, a Japanese inspired festival and FREE cinema for kids from 2 years old.

The classic fairytale in a fun, playful setting. Suitable from 1 year old. Show lasts 40 mins. From 12euro per person.

🧒 3–5 | 👧 6+ (Best suited to kids from 3+ but little kids will still enjoy the outdoors!)

A fun family day out in Paris at this free Japanese festival. Activities include, drop-in style dance and music shows. You can also take a self-guided tour of the Bonsai garden. For lunch there will be Japanese food trucks (but aim to get in the line early, before 12pm as it can get busy!

🧒 3–5 | 👧 6+ ( activities more suitable for older kids)

You can make this a playful introduction to what makes Europe at this FREE dedicated festival ‘Journée de l’Europe‘. Bear in mind this is not a kid-focussed event but there will be events there that are suitable for young kids:

  • Dedicated games & play area: Includes a giant map of Europe, board games and more
  • Some stands offer interactive games for little kids for example ‘spin the wheel’ activities
  • Food trucks
  • Big pedestrian square to wander around

TIP: Usually, for events like this it’s best to arrive first thign to avoid the big crowds. For food trucks, aim to get in line before 12pm as queues will be big.

🧒 3–5 | 👧 6+ (workshops better sited to older kids but a fun intro to toddlers)

If you’re in central Paris, be sure to check out this free, very French event all about BREAD! La Fête du Pain Paris. Although not specifically aimed at kids, there will be the following suitable activities for kids under 6:

  • Bread making workshops
  • Bread making demonstrations especially for kids
  • ‘Meet the baker’
  • Free tastings

Cinema for little people! With short and sweet screenings, This weekend it’s themed around RAIN!

The Au Paradis des Enfants re-opened its doors mid-February. On Spring days this fairground is a great place to head to, and even better, many rides are 1 euro a ride. Set in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Leisure Island there’s also loads more activities and green space to enjoy in the sunshine.

Les Voiliers du Luxembourg

Around since 1890, these little miniature sail boats have been sailed on the Jardin du Luxembourg basin. It’s a super fine and affordable very ‘Paris’ activity with kids under 6. Opening for the first time this year for the April holidays, from 1st April.

Costs €6 er boat for half an hour.

Le Petit Bateaux

Open from 4th April, Tots City Guide recommends this outside activity, perfect from kids from 2 years old. Located in the beautiful Tuileries gardens right by The Louvre. Read more about fun things to do with small kids in this area.

Tots City Guide recommends a day out with small kids at these beautiful Château gardens. April is the perfect time to visit at the tulips are starting to bloom, aim to come near mid April to see them at their finest!

TIPS: Hire a 4 person bike for €10, it makes it much easier to explore the vast grounds with a toddler or small child.

Trampoline at The Tuileries

With the sunny days become rarer by the week, make the most of any sunshine strolling through the Tuileries Gardens. Here you can soak in key Paris monuments like The Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Even better, when visiting the Tuileries Gardens with young kids there are tons of activities to do there. If you want to be one of the first to see it, it’s quite late but grab tickets asap and be prepared for high prices and a lot of crowds. If you want to AVOID the crowds, aim to book your Disneyland Paris trip for next year / in a few months when the fuss has died down a bit!
